Dead heats affect exotic bets differently to how they affect single bets, so here's how it works:
When a Dead Heat occurs, we calculate your return by taking the full payout value of your combination (stake plus winnings) and splitting it across all the winning combinations produced by the dead heat.
Think of it as the exotics version of standard dead heat rules — instead of splitting your payout by the number of runners who dead-heated, we split it by the number of winning combinations your bet actually covers.
For example:
Say you've boxed a trifecta on runners 1, 2 and 3. If runners 1 and 2 dead-heat for first place, your bet now has two valid winning orders: 1-2-3 and 2-1-3. Because both are winners, your payout is divided by 2.
